Der Heilige Sankt Staffan, die schwedische Form von Stefan, wird als stalledrång, der Stalljunge mit fünf Fohlen dargestellt. Es gibt in Schweden unzählige Lieder über ihn. Sein Ehrentag ist der 26. Dezember. In dem Text des Liedes Staffansvisa wird der Brauch beschrieben, bei dem Kinder von Haus zu Haus ziehen und die Menschen zum Sankt Stefans Tag beglückwünschen. Die Fenster seien so klar geputzt, ob sie viel Schnaps im Hause hätten, so die Kinder zu den Nachbarn. Nun diese Frage rührt wohl von der Tradition her, dass früher die Leute ihre Fenster unter anderem mit Alkohol putzten. Na dann, Skål!?
